"The Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel Beijing was nice in all respects except for the check in service. The lady had the barest knowledge of English & made the process very tedious & lengthy. She also kept insisting to take a room on the 5th floor which everyone had advised not to 'cos of extreme noise coming from the restaurant. Finally her boss had to intervene & we got a room on the 6th floor.

"Excellent location near the railway station. Lots of restaurants nearby. The Beijing subway is a short walk away. Staff spoke little English. Hotel room facilities need updating, especially the carpets. The cleaning staff were very courteous, but need a lot of training in meeting Howard Johnson standards. This may be due to the hotel Paragon being recently taken over by the Howard Johnson chain. We had to ask the Duty Manager to change our room as the original room assigned did not seem to be cleaned properly. Overall, good value for the money." - Anonymous |
