Located in front of the famous Copacabana and close to Ipanema beaches, this hotel is considered as the most prestigious in Rio.
Location
The Sofitel Palace Rio de Janeiro is situated directly on Copacabana Beach, with public transport directly outside the hotel and the shopping and entertainment district a stone throw away. The Art Copacabana, Roxy, Copacabana and Ipanema-Leblon are some of the tourist attractions here.
Rooms
All the 355 rooms and 33 suites are spacious, and fully furnished with dark wood furnishings. Most units have a private balcony as well.
Restaurant
The hotel has two restaurants, the first a poolside restaurant, while the other overlooking the beach. Guests can visit any one of the bars, lounges and a host of varying boutiques onsite.
General
The hotel boasts 10 well-appointed meeting rooms that can host numerous business events. During leisure, you can refresh yourself or sunbathe at the 2 swimming pools.

"After a long tour around south america we book the sofitel. Fantastic position at the beach, also has 2 swmming pools, which were quiet small but i guess i was lucky as there wasnt much people using them when i was there. Didnt see any facilities if you were staying with a young family but i didnt notice any people with a young family there at the time. Overall the staff were very helpfull & well organised. I would recommend this hotel more for couples on holiday or honey-moon due to its location more then anything else." - Maurice Rafferty |
