The Canberra Rex Hotel is Hotel with a long tradition where many of the national as well as international celebrities, famous athletes and guest enjoyed their stay.
You can choose any of our 157 rooms divided into Standard, Delux or Executive Suites type. You are very welcome to use the inroom wireless internet or entertain yourself with the free movie channels. Possibly you may decide to try some of the delicious meals from our room service. Or how about to exercise in the fitness centre and then relax you body in the sauna? Of course, we provide our guests with free off street parking.
Currently Canberra Rex Hotel is undergoing a complete renovation and refurbishment of all the rooms part by part. Essentially, this has no effect on our guests stay. Next year a new 4.5 star hotel will be constructed and Rex Hotel will become a part of a one of the most luxurious accommodation facilities in Canberra, with the offer of total 311 suites, new restaurants, brasserie and two bars.

The Hotel is 1 km from the City Centre. Located on the corner of Northbourne avenue and Ipima street.
Approx 15 minutes drive from the Airport & the Train station.
The location of our Hotel offers to our guest the comfort of reaching the Canberra city center just within a walking distance. In the case your business in one of the main corporate or government districts as Belconnen or Woden they are conveniently 15 minutes drive away.
"Airconditioning in room was pathetic. 32 deg C and not able to adjust. Reception claimed that it was old system and copuld not be adjusted. They loaned me a fan!
Had to run hot water in shower for 5 minutes before hot water came through, and then it was too hot! What a waste!

"Room renovations continue, and staff are friendly as always. I commend the front desk staff for their attention to my complaints at the start of this visit: no towels, and the fridge was dead. Kane left the front desk (while another person attended reception) and brought me towels immediately. Next day he reminded those at reception to do something about the fridge -- I received a brand new one. Another gentleman whose name I don't know (tall, dark suit) was very concerned that I was satisfied. And the dining room staff (especially Mathieu) were welcoming and helpful. So that was good. However, room windows and window frames are always very dirty here. I reminded staff that when they finish room renovations it is important to wipe down the window frames to remove loose mortar, dust, etc., but that complaint has fallen on deaf ears my past three visits. Ah well: the location is very convenient and the price is the best in town. Hope springs eternal!" - Timothy Deeter
