Location
Perched on the edge of Australia's World Heritage listed Blue Mountains less than 2 hours drive from Sydney, York Fairmont Resort offers something for everyone. The resort is also the ideal accommodation base to explore local attractions including the Three Sisters, the Scenic and Zig Zag Railway and the charming historic villages of Leura, Katoomba, Blackheath and Wentworth Falls.
Rooms
All 210 deluxe accommodation guestrooms offer views over the beautiful Jamison Valley or the adjoining Leura Golf Course.
Restaurant
The resort offers a range of dining alternatives from fine dining and gourmet cuisine in the Eucalypt Restaurant, an international style buffet in Jamisons Restaurant to light snacks and cafe-style food served at the View Coffee Shop and Embers Bar with spectacular views over the Blue Mountains.
General
With a grand ballroom and many other meeting rooms, the resort is ideal for corporate conferences, executive board meetings, seminars and incentives. The recreation club offers everything from a spa, swimming pool, massage and beauty therapies to a children's club during school holidays.
By Car: Follow the M4 Motorway west from Sydney. The motorway becomes the Great Western Highway at Lapstone. Follow the highway through the mountains, and make a left turn (when you reach Leura), at Scott Avenue. Follow the signs to Fairmont Resort (five minutes' drive from the highway).
By Train: Trains from Central Station to the Blue Mountains leave at least once an hour. Depart the train at either Leura or Katoomba, where taxis are waiting to bring you to York Fairmont Resort (five minutes' journey by taxi).

"This hotel does not deserve the star rating it currently enjoys. We arrived late in the afternoon to be greeted by very surley staff. They say first impressions count, unfortunatly it was down hill from there.
The "resort" itself is very dated, it needs a good clean a fresh coat of paint and some new furnishings. The lamp shades look as though they were installed when the "Resort" was first built. They are now stained and tired.
The restaurant was closed at night so we had to contend with bar food which was very upappetising.
The bar staff were the only members of staff who managed to smile, they were welcoming, curteous and helpfull.

"From the moment we drove up we were made to feel very welcome. Our grandchild was made a fuss of and there was lots to keep him happy. The setting at Leura was lovely and the food and service were excellent. Buffet dinner in Jamison's was reasonably priced and there was a great selection. We will stay at the Fairmont very happily again in the future.
Earlier in the year we also had enjoyed a beautiful meal in Eucalypt restaurant with our overseas guests. The staff were friendly and the food fantastic." - Maureen McGreevy |
