"Stayed at Espana twice - 4 nights then later for another 2. Overall I would say it's absolutely great. In particular:
* Location - 3 mins from the Cathedral. Metro is easy to trendy Bellavista, but can also walk in 30 mins
* Staff - really helpful people on reception 24 hrs who speak good English. Aways felt like nothing was too much trouble
* Free internet - 2 terminals on 4th floor
* Good facilities - safe in room and cable TV
* Price - pre-paid GBP27 per night for original booking. Other stay unexpected, so phoned them direct. USD40 a night for that, no hidden extras. They also fixed taxi from airport for 13,000 Peso (USD26) - bit more expensive than standard taxi, but great
On the other hand:
* Decor is definitely faded. Didn't bother me, but might bother some
* One room had aircon, the other didn't. I guess you could ask on arrival
* Breakfast was included but didn't look great. I always went out - Best place I found was Bonafide coffee shop in Paseo Huerfanos" - Martin Pierce |
